Congratulations to Haneul Jang for receiving two research grants!
As Principal Investigator, Haneul has been awarded Post-PhD Research Grants from both the Leakey Foundation and the Fyssen Foundation for her project titled "Mapping Social Support Networks of Mothers in Two Small-Scale Societies in the Congo Basin".
The Leakey Foundation is the leading nonprofit funder of research dedicated to understanding human origins. Each year, the foundation awards approximately $1,000,000 in grants and scholarships, advancing our mission to explore and explain the human story. The Fyssen Foundation research grants aim to facilitate the execution of research projects that enhance understanding of the mechanisms of behaviour and cognition in living beings, as well as their ontogenetic and phylogenetic development. For more information, you can visit Leakey Foundation's website and Foundation Fyssen.
This summer, Haneul will conduct fieldwork with BaYaka hunter-gatherers and Bantu farmers in the Republic of the Congo as part of this project, supported by these research grants.
