Biography
Yuzuru grew up in the suburbs of London, before returning to Japan for college, and studying for his Ph.D. in Davis, California. His research interests are in Economic History, Labor Economics, and Development Economics. His research attempts to answer major puzzles in long-run world history by employing novel datasets such as village registers and servant wage contracts. Yuzuru won the Alexander Gerschenkron Prize for best dissertation in non US or Canadian economic history from the Economic History Association for his research.
