Biography
Philippe De Donder is a Research Director at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) assigned to Toulouse School of Economics, and a senior researcher at TSE-Partnership (formerly, Institut D'Economie Industrielle, IDEI). He received his Ph.D. in economics in 1998 at the University of Namur (Belgium). He began his career as a lecturer at the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole before joining CNRS in 2001. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of Rochester (USA, 2000) and Yale (USA, 2007), and a professor at the University of Québec at Montréal (UQAM) from 2017 to 2019. His research focuses on public economics, political economy, health economics and economics of regulation. He has published more than fifty articles in journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, The Economic Journal, Journal of Health Economics, Social Choice and Welfare, Economic Theory and International Journal of Industrial Organization. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Public Economic Theory, Social Choice and Welfare and a member of the board of editors of the Journal of Regulatory Economics. He has been mainly involved in partnerships with Royal Mail, La Poste, Engie, SCOR and GRDF.
